Missie Altamirano is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Her educational background consists of a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Fresno. She was one of the first to become board certified at the bachelor’s level in 2004 and maintained that certification until she became a BCBA.
Prior to joining the team at CAC, Missie worked 19 years with several ABA providers serving as a Behavior Technician, Consultant, Assistant Clinical Director and Regional Supervisor serving children with ASD through in-home and center based treatment programs across the Central Valley. She held a director position for 9 years and received an Outstanding Regional Supervisor award from Autism Society of America (ASA). She has also served on the ASA and Families for Effective Autism Treatment – Fresno Madera Counties (FEAT-FMC) board of directors.
It is the direct impact on her clients and their families that has maintained her desire to work within the field of Behavior Analysis. She enjoys providing parent training and supervision to graduate students and Registered Behavior Technicians.
Missie was born in Madera and is married to her husband Michael. She has one daughter, Abbie, who is finishing her graduate degree at the University of Washington. Missie loves to travel, RV Camp in any beach town, and enjoys spending time with her nieces, nephew and family.
